Review
I've had this CD in my possession for a couple of weeks now, but this is the first time that I've been able to sit down and actually review it (who would think that quitting my job would be so stressful!?). Throughout this time I've had a few albums on constant rotation and this is one of them. So... without further ado... here's my review...
On this album Coffin Birth have blended a pinch of Black Metal (mainly in the vocals) and a whole load of humour with some excellent Melodic Thrash. This band aren't really here to play as fast as humanly possible, they seem to be far more concerned with song structure and melody (and some wonderful lead guitar!) - and this has really paid off. "The Miracle of Death" is top notch from start to finish. This is the kind of music that makes you feel proud to be a metalhead!
Recommended tracks include: "The Pain of Being Dead", "Graveyards Ablaze", "A Crime of Mere Existence" and "Final Baptism".
The album art and the band's website have a really cool horror movie/cartoon vibe and this brings another - extremely entertaining - element to the band.
If you haven't heard this yet you are - quite simply - missing out!
