Hailing from Istanbul, Electrocute are here to Thrash your brains out. The slightly strange classical opening to "Fall in Hate" is a weird way to start an album like this, but once the song kicks in, it all seems to work. Throughout the album there seems to be a strong focus on the riffs, solos and melodies and all of this definitely pays off. The fact that I got this album for free makes it even better! But, please know that when Thrash is done with this much passion, I would also be quite happy to pay for it.
Yes, the band certainly seem to be passionate and there's also an element of fun to the preceedings as well. I strongly urge you to download this album, have a few beers (or a drink of your choice!) and put this album on... as LOUD as you can! This is the time to bang your head and knock someone's eye out with your hair!
I'm always cautious when a band gives out their album for free. I have to admit that I've found a lot of crap through that method, but I was pleasantly surprised with "Pirates of Thrash". Don't get me wrong, this album is not without it's flaws (often the songs seem merge into each other and I'll admit that Electrocute are never going to win any prizes for originality) but the band really seems to love what they're doing and that shines through. They're not reinventing wheel, but they're having a bloody awesome time riding around on it!
My favourite tracks have got to be "Everlasting Massacre", "Evilsent" ("Mr President, Hell is calling"!), "Hellish Fantasy" and, of course, the title track itself.
