Review

Funeral Throne When this album dropped into my hands (well, it dropped through the letter box and then I picked it up) I had no idea who Funeral Throne are... and, to be honest, I'm still not really any the wiser. So, rather than starting this review with where the band originate from, or what their favourite beverage is, I'm just going to dive right in and tell you about this album... which is the whole point in writing this anyway.

The cover art promises Black Metal and the contents of the album doesn't disappoint. The first track, "Summoning", is a splendid doom-laden piece that leaves the listener (well, this listener at least) aching to hear what's in store for them. "Dark Moon Ritual" delivers the first real onslaught of punches and is savagely raw with interesting tempo changes that really benefit the track. From this track onwards the intensity never lets up.

"Nihil Sine Diabolvs" is full to the brim with tracks that will please your common or garden Black Metal fan (they certainly pleased me). Each track has it's own character and several reasons why you should play it again and again. At the moment "Soulless Eternity" is my track-to-repeat!

Funeral Throne have created a beast of an album... a magnificently dark beast of an album.
