I've been looking forward to hearing this album since I saw the band supporting Godsized at The Brief earlier this year, where they put on an excellent show! One listen to "Cheyne Stoking" will show you that show wasn't a fluke - this band is damn good.
Some of the tracks here have that anthemic quality that makes them instant favourites (listen to "Killer From New York" and you'll know what I mean) and all of the tracks are full-on 100% Metal. This band should appeal to fans of Pantera, Lamb of God and Flatline.
"Your View From The Sun" gives a rare glimpse into the 'softer' side of Huron, but then it's back to business as usual when "Your Sins From Yesterday" kicks in.
I have good memories of that gig at The Brief, and Huron have managed to sound as good as they do live as they do on CD (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it). The CD also has a fantastic live quality to it.
If you like Metal that makes you feel alive then you need to buy "Cheyne Stoking".
