Listening to Ploy for Extinction is an incredibly enjoyable experience. This demo pretty much contains something for all my moods (which is quite an impressive accomplishment!). For instance, there's the brutality and aggression when I just feel like ripping some random person's throat out (which is a mood, I'm ashamed to say, that seems to rear its ugly head far more often than it should!), there's the insanely memorable grooves for when I'm happy and/or hyper and want to bounce around the room/pub/street/office and then there's everything in between. It also has that fantastic thing where I find myself able to listen to it with my eyes closed and get lost in PFE's rocky and turbulent landscape... which is marvellously handy at the end of a long day! Musically this band are fantastic and are definitely on their way somewhere BIG. And, I'd like it noted, that Loucifer Speaks has featured them now...
Overall, this demo seems quite well produced, but there are times when I'd like the vocals to be brought up a notch... but, on the whole, it's a job well done. I especially like the full sound on the drums and, on occasion, the bass.
I'm hoping that PFE bring their brand of Thrash-influenced Metal to the UK soon.
