The most amazing show I have ever been too. Machine Head, Megadeth, and Heaven and Hell (Dio-era Black Sabbath line-up) all were awesome.
Machine Head was the first opening band. They werent too bad. They had a nu-metal-ish sound to them but whatever still ok These guys have a pretty good style and have my respect. The one song i really liked was "Aesthetics of Hate" which was dedicated to all us fans who mourned the death of Dimebag Darrell. Machine Head played about 40 minutes or so.
Next up was Megadeth. f**king awesome!! Daves voice was fantastic. They played a few songs off there new album, United Abominations. From UA they played "Washington's Next", "Sleepwalker", and "Gears of War" I believe. They played "Peace Sells", "Symphony of Destruction", "Hanger 18" and a shitload of other songs I can't remember.
Finally Heaven and Hell came on. Clearly what everyone wanted. Dio's voice was in-f**king-credible! Tony Iommi's guitar and Geezer Butler's bass were at there best. And of corse Vinny Appice's drumwork was great. They played so many song i can only remember a few. "Children of the Sea", Heaven and Hell", "Voodoo", "The Mob Rules", "Lady Evil", "Falling off the Edge of the World", and of coarse "Neon Knights" (which was the encore). Tony Iommi played some awesome solos. They literally blew my mind away. What really blew me away was Vinni's drum solo. Man his arms must have been tired as shit!!
While at the show, we talked to some cool people. This one couple we talked with have been Dio fans longer than ive been alive!! Sometime during the Megadeth set Christian and I managed to sneak up closer (hehe) were for the rest of the show we talked to some drunk/stoned guy for a while. We all were headbanging like crazy (what do you expect it's f**king Heaven and Hell). Funy thing was some old lady kept telling the guy not to smoke while he was drinking underage. Everytime she left he'd toss his cigarrette butts at her hahahahahaha.
We only had enough money for one shirt, so I let Christian buy a Megadeth tour t-shirt, even though I would've preferred if he got a heaven and hell shirt instead, but oh well. There was a guy selling bootleg Heaven and Hell tour shirts for $20 which I wanted ut didn't have money (damn!)
Overall it was easily the greatest concert I have ever attended in my life, and it was also a religious experiance for me (heavy metal is my religion, hehe) because without Dio and Black Sabbath we would not have the awesomeness that is METAL.
